The areas affected lie to the west and south of Valencia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve been following the news (Soldiers aid search for dozens still missing as prime minister warns extreme weather may not be over<\/a>) there are reports of heavy flooding around Valencia. We’re OK as this is mainly to the west and south of us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My group’s rides have taken me through many of the towns that have been devastated, so I’m familiar with the areas impacted. It’s truly tragic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those unfamiliar with the area conflate Valencia City with the Valencia Community. For U.S. readers, think Valencia Community as a state-level political unit. “Comarcas” are roughly akin to counties. And cities, well, are city and town entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simply put, stay away from affected areas to allow rescue crews to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
